Isn't it amazing that Steve McGarrett looks good even in those ugly prison jumpsuits? He always keeps his grace and dignity - no matter if he's handcuffed, locked up in prison innocent, being dragged through the Korean jungle by a rope round his neck, or tortured and used as a punching ball by his adversary Wo Fat. What an amazing guy! But despite his toughness and coolness as a trained Navy seal, he remains absolutely likeable, humourful and sensitive - although some people might question that last attribute, in view of his often unorthodox and seemingly out-of-control approach to investigations and interrogations :-)
I think the pictures above perfectly show the different sides of Steve McGarrett. You can see a variety of emotions reflected in his eyes and facial expressions. It's this particular mix of character traits that I like in Steve - not so much the tough military attitude (which is perfectly fine though for fighting those criminals!) but his sensitive, vulnerable side, as well, when he's trying to cope with the death of his parents or with being framed for a murder he did not commit - and I like his humorful side when he teases his partner Danno. I do love the interaction between the two - especially in their carguments.
Therefore, here's my favorite "couple" of the show: Steve

By the way - Scott Caan, who plays Danno, is also a terrific actor - without
him, those carguments wouldn't be half as much fun as they are

I was lucky enough to get the DVD box of season 1 brought along by my sister
(who's been living in Seattle for 30 years) when she came for a visit in
December and actually watched the DVDs repeatedly within just a couple of weeks!
Since there are 24 episodes plus specials on those 6 DVDs, I guess that shows
you how much I like "Hawaii Five-0" and Alex O'Loughlin :-)
I just really regret not living in the States so I can't watch the latest
episodes every Monday on CBS :-(

This following short clip isn't funny but still one of my
favorite clips of Steve and Danno. It shows some of their very special moments
together - also with Danno's cute daughter Grace- And I love the song in the

Cargument about dog (from Season 2)
- To those of you who miss this video clip - Yes, it was here before but was
removed from YouTube. It was one of my favorites, too. You see Steve and Danno
riding in the car with a dog on the passenger seat (The dog's looking out of the
open window) and Steve is sitting on the back seat.
The funny dialogue between Steve and Danno goes pretty much like that:
Steve: 'Could you explain to me again why I'm sitting in the back while the dog
is riding shotgun?'
Danno: 'I told you the dog needs the window'
Steve: 'Oh, right, how else is he gonna enjoy his tour of Waikiki'..... I love
it :-)

Season 2 -
Short lookout to the finale by Alex & Scott NEW (May 3)
The two are grinning very happily while they
are announcing that a lot of people get shot in the finale - That really makes
me curious, that's for sure...
But, no worries, Alex fans - I'm totally sure that the producers wouldn't
possibly dare to let Steve die in a shoot-out. They know better than to get all
those Alex fans mad as hell :-)
Besides, they already announced that Michelle Borth (Steve's girlfriend
Catherine) will be a regular on Season 3 which wouldn't make any sense if Steve
got killed. As a matter of fact, the whole show would make no sense without him.
Speaking about Michelle - I think she's another great addition to the regulars -
just like Masi Oka as Dr. Max Bergman in Season 2. He's so funny - and we must be
forever grateful to him for 'patching up' Steve after his escape from Halawa in
Ep. 1 of this season :-)

It's the most up-to-date and most comprehensive fan website I've found online.
After a short announcement that this website would be taken off the web in Feb.
2012 for lack of time for updates, the administrator received so many e-mails
from frustrated fans that she decided to keep the website going, and I'm very
grateful for that! Although I find, that the website has almost too much
content, it's also got that fantastic news page with current promo trailers and
press releases for "Hawaii Five-0", as well as the latest news on Alex and the
show.
